Lucy Costley-Wood
Lucy Costley-Wood graduated with a BSc degree in Chemistry from the University of Birmingham (2018) and an MSci degree from the University of Glasgow (2019).
In 2023, she completed her PhD at the University of Glasgow, in collaboration with Johnson Matthey, under the academic supervision of Emma Gibson and with industrial support from Timothy Hyde, Amy Kolpin and Dave Thompsett of Johnson Matthey. Her PhD research developed and applied in situ techniques to investigate relationships between catalyst structure, activity and ageing.
Her post-doctoral research, in the laboratory of Professor Andy Beale at University College London has developed and applied advanced operando X-ray characterisation methods to gain insight into catalysts, materials and catalytic reactors.
Lucy will carry out her Fellowship in the same laboratories at Harwell Campus, the location of Diamond Light Source, from October 2025.
