Jim O'Donnell

I am an IChemE Fellow and Chartered member since 1991. I have worked in various process engineering and senior leader positions internationally in Algeria, Thailand, the United States and in the UK with British Gas Exploration and Production ltd, BHP Petroleum ltd, Anadarko and currently with Chevron where I am asset manager for the Alba field. I am standing for election as I would like to increase the active involvement of our members in the Aberdeen area activities and promote the benefits our members and profession bring to the community and the wider Scottish economy. In this year of the 30th anniversary of the Piper Alpha disaster I am keen to reinforce the pivotal role our profession brings to process safety and will make an active contribution myself with a technical presentation case study on incidents I have been involved in investigating during the course of my career.

Kerry O'neill

I am a IChemE fellow with over 20 years of broad Process Engineering Experience in Upstream, Downstream & Manufacturing. I have worked in Senior Leadership roles on a major Greenfield GOM Deepwater Project and as a European Team Lead; more recently I have been appointed as Regional Discipline Head for Process Engineering.
Throughout my career, I have been very active with my local IChemE committees, serving as Teesside’s Secretary & Chair of YMG, Aberdeen’s Schools Liaison officer prior to my US assignment and since returning to the UK I have been acting as Vice Chair. In addition, I also served on the SPE ‘Another Perspective’ committee which focused on supporting Women’s career development as well as promoting the industry as potential career options at schools & universities. These positions all support my passion for creating an inclusive culture, promoting engineering and developing others. If elected, I would like to increase the participation of our members in activities to promote our profession and highlight where we add value to the community. I would also like to broaden the focus to be more inclusive to industries other than Oil &Gas, understanding that the downturn has led to more diversification in our member population.
