Overview

Join the South Wales Member Group for an exclusive visit to BAE Systems Glascoed, a critical UK munitions manufacturing facility. Originally opened in 1940, this historic site plays a vital role in national defence, specialising in the development, filling, and production of artillery shells and advanced warheads supplied to the Ministry of Defence and international allies.

The unique opportunity offers a behind-the-scenes access to a highly specialised environment rarely open to visitors. Attendees will meet members of the process engineering team, gain insight into cutting edge manufacturing techniques and learn for the site supports global defence capability. The visit continues with a guide tour of the process areas, providing first-hand understanding of the precision, safety and innovation that underpins munitions production. A light lunch will also be provided.

Photo ID will be required for entry.

  • 09:00–12:00 – Presentations by the process engineering team
  • 12:00–12:45 – Lunch
  • 12:45–15:30 – Process area tours
