Overview

Alfanar, a global innovation and technology company has chosen Wilton to be the site for their Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) plant. Using gasification and Fischer-Tropsch technologies, the plant will convert biomass into certified drop-in second-generation SAF that is fully compatible with today’s aircraft and airport infrastructure. Integrated with carbon capture and storage (CCS), the project is designed to produce carbon-negative SAF, permanently removing more carbon from the atmosphere than is emitted across the fuel's lifecycle. The Lighthouse Green Fuels plant is planned to be set up with carbon capture and storage which would make its SAF a net user of carbon dioxide.
