Overview

This presentation reviews the challenges in the construction of civil engineering infrastructure in the Oil and Gas industry using case studies from Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa. It will highlight the importance of early studies in optimising infrastructure economy, resilience and sustainability as well as the management of ground risks. Innovative engineering solutions which optimise use of locally available resource demonstrate how infrastructure construction can fulfil local content requirement resulting in socio-economic benefits and environmental sustainability in the host countries.
