Webinar: Inferential Properties for Methanol Distillation and Cyber Security for Process Control

Webinar: Inferential Properties for Methanol Distillation and Cyber Security for Process Control
  • Date From 30th January 2023
  • Date To 30th January 2023
  • Price Free of charge, open to all.
  • Location Online: 18:00 MYT. Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes.

Overview

In this talk, we will explain how to improve the parameter control aspect using the three inferential that were developed to predict ethanol content in methanol and methanol in water, utilising the pressure and temperature indicator readings at the columns. With these, the change in composition can be estimated in real-time, and more methanol product is produced by maximising ethanol in methanol and minimising methanol in water. Besides that, we will talk about the various changes and initiatives which had taken place within the process control and business network. Many of these initiatives or programs are here to stay post COVID-19, as it has successfully reinforced cyber security by far.

Speakers

Noor Amanina Ghazali, Process Control Engineer, PETRONAS

Noor graduated from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS and has been with PETRONAS for seven years. She spent her first three years in service at PC Methanol (Labuan) Sdn Bhd as process technologist and then later with PETRONAS Group Technical Solutions doing process control.

She is passionate in distillation process mainly and has been involved with works on advanced process control application revamp, base layer controller studies and inferential development for petrochemical plant and gas processing plant.

Fadillah A Hamid, Process Control Engineer, PETRONAS

Fadillah began her journey with PETRONAS in 2007 as a process control engineer in Malaysian Refining Company Sdn Bhd (MRCSB) and today she is currently working with PETRONAS Group Technical Solution covering the areas of base layer control, advanced regulatory control (ARC) and advanced process control (APC). She has 15 years of experience working on various oil and gas processes such as implementing APC solutions for crude distillation unit, saturated gas recovery unit and LNG plant. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from University of Technology PETRONAS.
