Overview

This webinar will outline the rise of sewer network monitoring to help improve river quality. Before 2015, the wastewater collection network was typically very poorly monitored. Apart from monitors to control wastewater pumping stations and floats on emergency overflows, there was a scant amount of monitoring. There were of course exceptions, but this was generally the rule.

What is now evident is the amount of monitoring has increased exponentially over the past decade and is set to increase even further over the next decade. This will hopefully have the outcome of enabling both the regulators and the water companies, as well as other polluters, the opportunity to restore our precious river environments.
