David is a senior reservoir engineer with more than 20 years of varied experience with an operator (BP) and subsequently an energy service company (LR Senergy).

David has an MA degree in chemical engineering from the University of Cambridge and a strong background in reservoir engineering, petroleum engineering, formation evaluation and well planning within multi-disciplinary teams. Key areas of expertise include field development planning, depletion planning, evaluation of business development opportunities, Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), CO2 EOR, mature field management, asset evaluations and reserves audits. He is a skilled coach and mentor to graduate engineers.

David has been a member of the SPE for 15 years and is on the organising committee for Devex 2021. He is a member of the IChemE and a member of the Energy Institute. He has a particular interest in the climate change and decarbonisation agendas and the energy integration and energy transition technical challenges and is very keen to apply his substantial experience to realise the opportunities created by the transition to net zero.
