This event will introduce you to the subject of Process Safety; what it is, why it should be implemented, the methodologies utilised and the benefits of implementing it.

It will be of benefit to those in industries required to comply with regulations such as COMAH, DSEAR & PED, & standards such as Functional Safety of Electrical / Electronic/Programmable Electronic Safety Related Systems & Functional Safety – Safety Instrumented Systems for the Process Industry Sector.

Process Safety is a framework for prevention and control of catastrophic accidents and near misses involving toxic effects, fires or explosion which could result in serious injuries, asset damage, lost production and environmental impact, by utilising good design principles, engineering and operating practices, requiring engineering and management input beyond that used for managing workplace safety.

Joe will identify the legislation requiring application of these principles and expand on the principles by explaining the methodologies utilised to implement them.

The methodologies explained will include; Functional Safety (SIF, SIS & SIL), HAZOP, LOPA and the associated Safety Lifecycle.
