  • Date To 12th October 2021

Overview

How can collaboration and standardisation reduce cost and schedule overruns in oil and gas projects?

Hear how the IOGP JIP33 project has, through cross-company collaboration, created standardised specifications for procurement of equipment, moving the industry towards common engineering designs and solutions, and how this affects the role of the process engineer on a project.

Speaker

Colin Winsor, JIP33 Steering Committee Member, Shell Representative, IOGP JIP33

Colin is a chemical engineer with more than 30 years of oil and gas experience covering desert to deepwater, well completions to gasplants, subsea to unconventional, and in various locations around the world. His recent roles include: project manager for billion-dollar deepwater developments; implementation manager for organisation change; chief development engineer responsible for front-end engineering; chief process engineer; and now process safety design integrity manager for the Shell Group.

Colin joined the IOGP JIP33 Steering Committee for its initial phase 1 pilot in 2016, and now 5 years later, JIP33 has produced more than 40 shared specifications for use by the industry.
