Perspectives on the Design of CCS Transport Networks: Do We Need a Process System Engineering Approach?
  • Date From 28th November 2022
  • Date To 28th November 2022
  • Price Free of charge, open to all.
  • Location Meeting Rooms 408-409, Level 4, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and online.

Overview

This talk will discuss why a “multiscale process system engineering” approach, from the practitioner point of view, is not only advantageous but necessary for the appropriate design of CCS transport networks (whether transport is carried out via pipelines or ships). Such approach takes into consideration all the components of the network in a single integrated system allowing to better understand and, potentially, optimise (large or small) systems.

Speaker

Dr Eduardo Luna-Ortiz, Technical Director, Pace CCS Ltd

Eduardo is the Technical Director at Pace CCS based in London UK. He holds a BSc in chemical engineering from UNAM (Mexico) and a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Manchester (UK). Eduardo later joined Imperial College London as a Post-doctoral Research Associate, where he pursued the development of multiphase flow modelling, computational CO2 thermodynamics, advanced control of fuel cells, green hydrogen production and numerical optimisation methods.

He has worked in a number of consultancies and software developers including Xodus Group, Genesis Oil and Gas and FEESA (now KBC Advanced Technologies/Yokowaga) over the past 16 years.
