We value your health and safety. Rest assured that IChemE will do their utmost to ensure the safety of delegates, industry partners and staff and will adhere to Government directives and follow practices in accordance with those that are in place at time of the conference. A complete risk assessment will be conducted closer to the event.

General

When can I register for Hazards Australasia?

We are going to open for registrations soon. You can register your interest to hazardsaus@icheme.org and we'll let you know when you can book your place at the conference.

Will I receive copies of the slides/papers presented at Hazards Australasia?

Yes, you will be able to download copies of the presentation slides and the full papers (if available) as valuable reference points after the event. Please note that this is subject to authors providing the relevant permissions. We will also be making videos of the presentations available after the event, allowing you to catch up on anything you missed or revisit content you found interesting.

Presenting

What is expected of a presenter before and during the conference?

Presenters will be given a 30-minute presentation slot which includes 10 minutes for questions. They will also be expected to join further discussion time relevant to their presentation.
Presenters will be asked to submit their PowerPoint slides before the conference. They will also be strongly encouraged to submit a detailed paper for the conference proceedings, although this is not an essential requirement of presenting.

I’m planning to present – what are my deadlines?
  • Abstract submissions close Monday 11 March 2024
  • Abstracts to be reviewed by technical committee, allocation of oral or poster presentation and invitation to submit full paper: week commencing 29 April 2024
  • Notification of abstract acceptance: week commencing 9 May 2024
  • Technical programme published and presenters notified: week commencing 9 July 2024
  • Early bird registration closes 30 June 2024
  • Event takes place: 29 September – 1 October 2024
Do presenters have to pay to attend Hazards Australasia?

Presenters will have full access to the conference so are expected to pay to attend. They will however benefit from a significantly discounted author rate.​ Registration fees will be available soon.
