Benchmarking

Benchmarking of a university programme can be undertaken from the second year of an active programme (we advise starting no earlier than the second semester of the second year). Please contact us a year in advance of the visit to allow time for scheduling.

Benchmarking generally entails one IChemE university accreditation assessor for a one or two day visit; occasionally two assessors may be involved.

The costs to the university include a non-refundable one-off fee of 3000 GBP.

Note that some travel, accommodation and subsistence costs for assessors may also be required depending on the location.

First accreditation

Three IChemE assessors will undertake a two day visit to the university to review degree programme/s.

The costs to university include:

  1. Non-refundable one-off fee of 3000 GBP. If accreditation is successful then this fee covers the annual fee for the first year.
  2. Annual fee of 3000 GBP for each year of accreditation.

Note that some travel, accommodation and subsistence costs for assessors may also be required depending on the location.

Reaccreditation

Three IChemE university accreditation assessors will undertake a two day visit to the university to review degree programme/s.

The cost to the university includes an annual accreditation fee of 3000 GBP.

(Annual fee covers all assessor travel and expenses and all programmes submitted for a single visit. If additional visits are required eg due to the development of new courses between scheduled accreditation visits, then it will be necessary to charge for assessor's travel and expenses.)
