Site Tour — Shell QGC Integrated Collaborative Environment (ICE) Room

Shell QGC are hosting the Queensland Joint Chemical Engineering Committee (JCEC) for a tour of their Integrated Collaborative Environment (ICE) Room in the Brisbane CBD.

The QGC ICE Room which has been operational since 2013, allows QGC to be directly connected to its people/plant on the ground and greatly improve station monitoring, well operation and production optimisation. The stand-alone floor provides all the required technological tools for multi-disciplinary teams to collaborate and act as a bridge between Field Operations and all supporting office-based functions.

The ICE room employs around 100 people operating 24 hours, 7 days a week. From the ICE room, QGC remotely monitors approximately 3000 wellsites and 31 processing plants operating more than 130 compressors across Queensland. QGC process around 10% of east coast gas demand and 40% of Queensland demand, in addition to supplying our LNG plant on Curtis Island for export.

The night will include an overview of QGC’s assets and gas process, an explanation of CSG well production, as well as a guided tour through the ICE room itself. Pizza will also be provided during the networking portion of the event after the tour.
