Overview
This talk explores sustainable management of palm oil mill effluent (POME), focusing on treatment methods, resource recovery, and operational challenges. Key topics include anaerobic digestion, co-digestion with palm oil biomass, and biochar enhancement.
The session highlights a designed Integrated Anaerobic-Aerobic Bioreactor (IAAB), showcasing its function, benefits, and potential for improved biogas production and pollutant removal. Comparative insights on treatment systems such as continuous stirred-tank reactors (CSTR) and covered lagoons are discussed, providing practical guidance for plant operation and promoting efficient, circular approaches to POME management.
The presentation will last 45 minutes, followed by a 15 minute Q&A session.
