Join this webinar hosted by an engaging panel from industries such as pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, oil and gas and the renewables sector. You will be provided with detailed accounts of their career progression and there will also be the opportunity to ask your questions on what the industry and roles are like.

Presenters

Tatiana Feriancova, Process Development Engineer, Treatt

Tatiana works for Treatt as a process development engineer following her role as a graduate engineer within the company. Tatiana is a graduate from the University of Aberdeen where she has received a MEng in Chemical Engineering in 2019. During her degree, she has also undertaken a summer placement as a process engineer within Vucht a.s. in Bratislava.

Dáire Archbold, Process Engineer, AstraZeneca

Dáire works for AstraZeneca as a process engineer within pharmaceutical technology and development, advancing new global medicines through lab and pilot plant scale experimentation, theoretical study and modelling. She recently graduated from the University of Birmingham with a MEng Chemical Engineering with Year in Industry. Whilst at university, she completed a year placement at Mondelēz International as a process engineer at Bournville, Cadbury factory and a summer placement with Jacobs (now Worley) in the Netherlands with an oil and gas focus.

Mark Baker, Operations/Commissioning Engineer, Energy Works Hull

Mark is an operations/commissioning engineer at Energy Works Hull, a waste gasification plant transforming domestic refuse to electrical power using fluidising bed gasification technology. He graduated from Surrey University in 1998 and has since gone on to work within the chemicals, polymers and now the power sector. Mark has primarily worked within the oil and gas industry with companies, such as Centrica and BP, in England, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Korea, Malaysia and Denmark.

Lincoln Smith, Health, Safety and Environmental Engineer, Siemens Gamesa

Lincoln is a Chartered chemical engineer working as a health, safety and environmental engineer at the Siemens Gamesa blade factory in Hull. Lincoln started working at the blade factory in 2017, soon after the start of production. He has helped expand the factory to enable the production of even larger turbine blades. He is now responsible for ensuring machines and equipment used in the blade factory are safe by design and oversees the factories risk management and control of work processes. Before moving into the wind industry, he worked for BP Chemicals at Saltend Chemicals Park in Hull. Having moved from the chemicals industry into blade manufacturing, he has seen first-hand many of the engineering challenges facing this up-and-coming industry.
