Overview

The world-first Hydrogen Energy Supply Chain (HESC) Project aims to safely produce and transport clean liquid hydrogen from Australia’s Latrobe Valley in Victoria to Kobe in Japan. A key objective of the pilot project is to demonstrate an end-to-end supply chain between both countries. This webinar will contain: an outline of underlying project motivations; project fixed assets and their locations; block diagram of the hydrogen production process; an outline of cryogenic / re-vaporisation processes; shipping technology and current parcel sizes; and future project prospects and scope.

Speakers

Yuko Fukuma, Kawasaki Heavy Industries & HESC

Yuko has over a decade experience working with HES, a Japanese multinational corporation primarily known for its excellence in energy, transport, shipping, submarines, aerospace, precision machinery and industrial robots. Yuko is a procurement and communications specialist in the company’s hydrogen division and since 2014 has contributed to the development and delivery of the Hydrogen Energy Supply Chain (HESC) Project. Yuko is responsible for working with Australian and Japanese consortia and governments, and overseeing community and stakeholder engagement activity in Australia.

Jeremy Stone, HESC

Jeremy is a Non-Executive Director, global executive and advisor with over 30 years of experience leading businesses and in the delivery of major infrastructure projects. He has held a variety of positions, including Regional Director for Asia and Group Manager of Innovation & Digital for a 10,000 strong global professional services company. He lived and worked in Asia and the UK for 14 years and has also delivered projects in the US, Middle East, Australia and China. He is a Director of the Australian subsidiary of J-Power, one of Japan’s largest utility companies and part of the Hydrogen Energy Supply Chain (HESC) consortia.
