Overview

In this joint meeting with SONG and the Heat Transfer Society, Alfa Laval will give a brief introduction to many of the types of compact heat exchangers used in mainstream industrial processes. The main focus will be on the benefits and limitations of each type and relate these to the classic shell-and-tube heat exchanger.

They will present information related to:

  • Plate and frame (gasketed and semi-welded)
  • Welded block
  • Copper brazed/fusion bonded plate heat exchangers (different to brazed aluminium plate fin types as detailed in API Std. 662)
  • Plate and shell
  • Spiral
  • PCHE

Phillip Siggery, Alfa Laval

Phillip has worked within Alfa Laval for 12 years as a Technical Sales Engineer. Initially working with HVAC and light industry applications, Phillip has for the last 7 years been involved with various refinery, oil and gas and other process industry projects using compact heat exchangers.
