8th July 2025

IChemE is pleased to announce a new partnership with Astutis, a leading provider of health, safety, and environmental training. Through this collaboration, four of our specialist HAZOP and process safety courses will now be promoted via the Astutis training platform.

This partnership combines IChemE’s technical expertise with Astutis’s strong global reach and digital training capabilities in the health and safety arena, making it easier for HSE professionals in high-hazard industries to access world-class training that enhances safety, competence, and compliance.

The following IChemE courses are now accessible to a broader audience via the Astutis platform:

IChemE’s Commercial Associate Director Matt Stalker says: “This partnership with Astutis allows us to widen access to our expert-led training, ensuring that professionals across the process industries can gain the critical skills they need to work safely and effectively. We’re excited to work together to meet the growing global demand for high-quality process safety education.”

Steve Terry, Managing Director of Astutis, adds: “We’re thrilled to collaborate with IChemE in delivering these respected courses to a wider audience. Our shared commitment to raising standards in safety and operational performance makes this an impactful step for both organisations and the industries we serve.”

As the need for robust process safety and operational risk management continues to rise, this partnership provides a scalable and effective way to equip professionals with the knowledge they need to reduce risk and deliver safer outcomes.

What is chemical engineering?

Chemical, biochemical and process engineering is the application of science, mathematics and economics in the process of turning raw materials into everyday, and more specialist, products. Professional chemical engineers design, construct and manage process operations all over the world. Energy, pharmaceuticals, food and drink, synthetic fibres and clean drinking water are just some of the industry sectors and products where chemical engineering plays a central role.

IChemE

The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) advances chemical engineering's contribution for the benefit of society. We facilitate the development of chemical engineering professionals and provide connections to a powerful network of around 32,000 members in more than 100 countries.

We support our members in applying their expertise and experience to make an influential contribution to solving major global challenges, and are the only organisation permitted to award Chartered Chemical Engineer status and Professional Process Safety Engineer registration.
