About competition

POPSIG and Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) organise POPSIG-MPOC Palm Oil Infographic Competition 2023 with the theme of "Future of Palm Oil Industry".

Organisers

This competition is organised by IChemE's Palm Oil Processing Special Interest Group (POPSIG), and co-organised by Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC).

Objectives of competition

  1. To recognise the current challenges in the Malaysian palm oil industry.
  2. To stimulate creative thinking and express innovative ideas in advancing Malaysian palm oil industry.
  3. To explore novel ideas to create a futuristic Malaysian palm oil industry.
  4. To provide a platform for students to showcase their design thinking, knowledge and skills.

Eligibilities

The participants must meet all requirements outlined as follow:

  1. This competition is open to all students in all departments at all universities located in Malaysia.
  2. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students are eligible to participate.
  3. All POPSIG committee and close relatives of MPOC staffs are not eligible to participate due to the conflict of interest.
  4. All the team members must be the registered students at the time of completing online submission.
  5. All participants who graduate after 01 July 2023 are also eligible to participate.

Cost

Registration and application are free of charge.

Prizes

RM1,000 cash prize will be awarded to the recipients of the 1st prize. Each group of the top 20 best infographics will receive the cash prizes. The details are available via the link below.

Only one (1) online form per infographic is required to participate in this competition.

The closing date for online submission is 23:59 MYT (GMT+8) on 01 October 2023.

Result announcement

  1. The Top 20 winning teams comprise 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place and 17 consolation prizes.
  2. The announcements will also be made by emails and via POPSIG channels.
  3. Awarded infographics will be displayed by the organisers at the conferences, exhibitions and roadshows.
