Clinton (Clint) McDonald has been with bp since 2011. During this time, he’s been focused predominantly on downstream HSE and operational risk roles, at both regional and global level, but has also held senior leadership roles within operations and transformation.

In his current role Clint is accountable for global safety strategy and the supporting programs. He leads a team of safety subject matter experts, covering areas including process safety, personal safety, contractor management and human performance.

Clint started his career as a graduate with Mobil, working in several research and production roles. He coordinated the rollout of Mobil’s HSE management systems across several of its Australian operations. This led to expanded HSE roles, including accountability for the Mobil Australian Fuels business. Following the merger with Exxon, Clint also worked on local implementation of Exxon’s OIMS.

In 2000 Clint joined Foster’s Group Ltd (multinational, diversified beverage company) in a HSE management role. In his final 3 years with Foster’s, Clint served as the Global OHS Manager, overseeing operations including residential property development, vineyards and wineries across Europe, California and ANZ, plus several Asia Pacific’s largest breweries.

Clint has an Honours Degree in Organic Chemistry, a Masters in Industrial Safety, post-graduate environmental qualifications and an MBA.
